Hyundai Veracruz

Hyundai Veracruz (ix55) is a full-size 5-door SUV of the K1 class from the Korean Hyundai Motor Company. The model was officially presented on October 12, 2006 in South Korea. The updated version was shown in 2007 at the Detroit Motor Show, and from the same year it was sold in the United States. In 2008, the Paris Auto Show featured a European version called ix55. In 2012, the model was replaced by an extended seven-seater version of the Hyundai Santa Fe LWB.

Specifications

The Hyundai Veracruz (ix55) is based on the Hyundai Santa Fe platform, but the wheelbase has been increased by 100 mm and is 2805 mm, thanks to which the designers were able to install a third row of seats.

Veracruz front suspension (ix55) – McPherson racks, rear – multi-engine. All wheels have disc brakes, and the dimensions of the discs are 17 and 18 inches. The Transmission alone is a 6-band Shiftronic, developed jointly with the Japanese company Aisin. The car’s drive is full, with a Haldex multidisk coupling.

Under the hood, the Veracruz (ix55) has two types of engines. The first 6-cylinder petrol V6 of the family Lambda in volume of 3.8 liters. The power of this engine is 260 hp at 6000 rpm, and the maximum torque at 348 Nm is achieved at 4500 rpm. Acceleration to a hundred takes 8.6 seconds, a maximum speed of 190 km / h. The second engine – a 3.0-liter diesel engine with six cylinders, the S-shaped – gives 240 hp at 3800 rpm, and 450 Nm at 1750-3500 rpm. Acceleration to a hundred takes 9.1 seconds, a maximum speed of 210 km / h.

To reduce the vibration, both motors are mounted on special supports, which are used to “mitigate” the energy of exhaust gases. One of the main features of the gasoline engine is an inlet manifold with variable geometry.

Fuel consumption in a diesel engine is l / 100 Euro 4 (Euro 5):

  • In the city – 12,8 (12,4)
  • On the highway – 7.9 (7.6)
  • Mixed cycle – 10.4 (9.4)

Fuel consumption in gasoline engine is l / 100 Euro 4:

  • In the city – 14
  • On the track – 9.8
  • Mixed cycle – 11,9
