Hyundai ix55 (in South Korea, USA, Canada, Brazil, China, was sold under the name of Hyundai Veracruz) – a mid-size crossover, produced from 2006 to 2012, since January 2009 officially sold in Russia.
Hyundai ix55 is based on the popular mid-size Hyundai Santa Fe crossover, however, it has a wheelbase increased by 100 mm (up to 2805 mm), which allows designers to install the third row of seats and make the crossover seven-seater. The development of the car from the concern Hyundai took about 222 million dollars and 26 months of work. The basic configuration of the Hyundai ix55 includes many elements that other similar cars have options, for example, dual-zone climate control and heated rear seats.
Available in the Russian market engines – a V-shaped 6-cylinder petrol unit with a volume of 3778 cc and a capacity of 264 hp. at 6000 rpm. and a 3-liter diesel V6 with a capacity of 239 hp. at 3800 rpm. The only proposed gearbox – a 6-speed automatic transmission Shiftronic, developed with the participation of specialists from the Japanese Aisin.
The front suspension of Hyundai ix55 is made on MacPherson struts, the rear one is a multi-link construction. The brakes of all crossover wheels are disc. The all-wheel drive in Hyundai ix55 is made by an electronically connected circuit (Haldex multi-plate clutch).
