Hyundai HD65 / HD72 – compact trucks with total weight of 6.5 and 7.2 tons respectively. Wheelbases exist in the range of 2550-3570 mm (the minimum turning radius is 5.0-7.3 m). Load capacity in HD65 is 3.6-4.0 tons, in HD72 – 4.1-4.5 tons.
Cabin – 3-seater standard and extended or 6-seater double. Access to the power unit is ensured by the cab. In equipping the machines – a family of 4-cylinder in-line diesels. In the model HD65 – 3,6 – liter air capacity of 100 hp. , 3,3-liter turbo-inflatable power of 115 hp, and also 3,9-liter air capacity of 120 hp, in model HD72 – 3, 9-liter turbo-supercharging capacity of 130 and 155 hp. Installed 5-speed manual gearbox. All cars have the wheel formula 4×2. The ground clearance of trucks HD65, “shod” in tires size 7.00х16-10PR, is 200 mm, in HD72 with tires 7.50х16-12PR – 235 mm. Suspension – on semi-elliptic springs. Standard equipment includes a power steering, an adjustable steering column, a 100-liter fuel tank.
The cars use 3 varieties of engines: D4AL, D4DB and D4DD. The difference between D4AL and D4DD is that DD uses electronic injection nozzle control. Uncomplicated in maintenance – every 15000 km. This model range took a confident position in the segment of medium-sized commercial vehicles for cargo transportation.
Hyundai MegaTruck – Korean medium-tonnage low-loader N2 category MCV category with a capacity of 5 tons manufactured since the end of 1997 by Hyundai. In the export markets, the Mega Truck is sold under the Hyundai HD120 index with an upgraded capacity of up to 8.2 tonnes. In the US and Canada it is sold under the Bering MD brand. Based on the Hyundai HD120, a three-axle Hyundai HD210 6×2 has been developed with a lifting rear axle and a load capacity of 16.3 tons.
In 2004, the model was updated, the car got a more streamlined cabin and new equipment.
In 2006, diesel engines received the Common Rail system.
In 2009, the Hyundai MegaTruck Widecab model was introduced with a wide cab from the heavyweight Hyundai Trago series.
The cars are equipped with diesel engines Hyundai D6DA, D6GA, D6DGA or D6BR in volume of 5.9-7.5 l capacity from 109 to 280 hp. and Hyundai Hybrid or Allison or ZF.
